Palace's history

Samuele Jesi, one of the greatest Italian engravers, was born at number 10 Corso Mazzini on 4 September 1788. His most famous works are a portrait of Pope Leo X and an engraving of the "Repudiation of Agar" after Guercino.

After being completely renovated, this historical building now houses the new wing of the Albergo dei Medaglioni. The decorated ceilings - bearing two sepia-coloured, 18th-century medallions depicting local castles - and the original parquet floor of inlaid softwoods in the Jesi Hall have both been returned to their antique splendour.

During the restoration, original parchment documents and drawings regarding the laying of the parquet were found and are now on display in the main hall of the building.
